Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 September 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Serajobs (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users — candidates, employers, and visitors.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is truthful, accurate, and complete. The Platform reserves the right to suspend accounts found to contain false information.
3. Candidate obligations
- You will provide accurate information about your identity, qualifications, and work history.
- You will not impersonate another person or misrepresent your professional background.
- You acknowledge the candidate fee (currently Serajobs's active rate as shown on the Fee Policy page) and consent to its recovery before submitting any application.
- You will not attempt to conduct employment negotiations outside the Platform to circumvent the success fee after being introduced to an employer through the Platform.
4. Employer obligations
- You represent that your company is a legally registered entity and that you are authorised to register on its behalf.
- You will provide accurate company details and verification documents.
- All job listings must include a genuine salary range. Listings without salary ranges will not be approved.
- Job listings must not discriminate on grounds of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic under Nigerian law.
- You will remit the agreed success fee within the configured payment window following a confirmed placement.
- You will not attempt to hire a Platform-introduced candidate outside the Platform to circumvent the success fee.
5. Platform fees
The success fee structure, payment window, and replacement guarantee terms are described on our Fee Policy page. All rates are configurable by the Platform's admin team and are effective from their stated date. The rates presented to you at the time of your explicit consent are contractually binding for that transaction.
6. Replacement guarantee
The replacement guarantee and its conditions are defined on the Fee Policy page and in the hire confirmation documentation. The guarantee is void in cases of circumvention, misrepresentation by either party, or employer-initiated termination for causes not disclosed to the Platform.
7. Anti-discrimination policy
The Platform prohibits job listings that discriminate on any protected ground under applicable Nigerian law. The Platform's moderation team enforces this at the listing review stage. Listings found to violate this policy will be rejected and the employer account may be suspended pending review.
8. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the Platform to: (a) circumvent fees by taking hiring off-platform; (b) scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data; (c) introduce malware or disrupt platform operations; (d) use fake identities or fraudulent documents; (e) harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
9. Dispute resolution
Disputes between employers and candidates are reviewed by the Platform's admin team. Either party may raise a dispute through the Platform. The admin team will mediate and issue a determination within 10 business days. Determinations may be appealed once within 5 business days of issue. The Platform's determination is final within the scope of Platform services.
10. Intellectual property
The Platform and its content (excluding user-provided content) are owned by the Platform operator. You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of content you upload (CVs, logos, job descriptions) but grant the Platform a licence to use it for matching and display purposes.
11. Limitation of liability
The Platform is a matching intermediary. It does not guarantee employment outcomes, the suitability of any candidate or employer, or the accuracy of third-party information. To the extent permitted by law, the Platform's liability is limited to fees paid to the Platform in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Modifications
The Platform may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by email and a 14-day notice period will apply. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute not resolved through the Platform's internal process will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
